Updated: Wind Advisory Extended Issued Amid Fire Conditions

Wednesday, 11:30 a.m.: The local wind advisory has been extended until Thursday at 3 p.m. Gusts could get up to 60 MPH.

Malibu’s high for Wednesday is projected at 83 degrees and could dip a bit on Thursday to 75 degrees.


National weather forecasters have issued a wind advisory for Malibu and surrounding areas as temperatures creep into the 80s and possible dry fire conditions set in.

Gusts up to 50 MPH are projected in the Malibu area on Tuesday afternoon, with a “possible lull” in the evening. Winds should pick back up again though on Wednesday morning. The advisory expires at 3 p.m. on Wednesday. 

Drivers along Pacific Coast Highway and connecting canyon roads are advised to drive carefully. Tuesday’s high is forecast at 79 degrees with humidity at 23 percent. Wednesday’s temperature should drop to 71 degrees.Â
