Market news squashed

Two weeks ago I spoke at the Malibu City Council meeting and related that two of my representatives, a single mother and her child, had been thrown out without provocation by Debra Bianco from the Malibu Farmers Market. I noticed in your subsequent editions that every topic spoken about at that meeting was covered except for that one.

I spoke again last night about the importance of our local farmers. Also Mr. Devlin and another gentleman (from Turkey) gave personal backup testimony regarding the complaints against Cornucopia, and about the legitimacy of the anti-Cornucopia petition, of which your newspaper received faxed information several weeks ago.

Why did your paper not cover the incident? If that isn’t news, I don’t know what is. Also, why haven’t you followed the story and backup information on the petition, in your possession for some time now? I do respectfully suggest and request that you do cover the very important issues both myself and Mr. Devlin spoke about. Why be the last paper to do so?

By the way, I do not, nor have I ever supported the take-over of the Malibu Farmers Market by any other specific management group. I do firmly support, however, new management for the market whatever form that may take.
