Do you have polystyrene foam that needs to be recycled? Use it to help create an ecoboard at the City of Malibu and Sustainable Surf’s “Waste to Waves” polystyrene collection event from April 1-16 at Malibu City Hall’s upper parking lot.

Sustainable Surf is a California-based nonprofit that strives to protect the ocean by turning polystyrene foam into surfboard blanks. They began the Ecoboard Project program to help consumers choose high-performance, sustainable surfboards designed to reduce environmental and toxic impact.

Collection bins will be located in the Malibu City Hall upper parking lot. They will be unlocked during regular business hours from Monday through Friday, and from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturdays. Only #6 white block packing foam will be accepted. For more information, call 310.456.2489.
