School Board makes move toward possible bond election

Malibu voters could be voting on a school district facilities bond measure in November. At last Thursday’s Santa Monica-Malibu Unified School District Board of Education meeting, the board requested district staff come back to the May 4 meeting with a measure that would set up the process for creating a November election. The May 4 meeting will take place in Malibu.

The school district has been hosting a series of meetings about a proposed Facilities Masters Plan during the past few months. A bond measure in November would require a 55 percent voter approval.
