The Malibu Optimist Club held its annual essay contest for high school students. This year’s question was: “Can Society Function Without Respect?”
The three winners—all from Malibu High—were honored at the club’s last breakfast meeting. Alexandra Galvan, in first place, received a gold medal and $300. In second place was Dell Zuckerman, with a silver medal and $200. Third place winner Bradley Sides received a bronze medal and $100.
