Letter: Already Paradise

Letter to the Editor

After reading Arnold York’s article (“From the Publisher: The pot boils” 3/2/17) it clearly looks like while it’s nice to see people engaged, they clearly have lost perspective. We live in a paradise, not realizing how fortunate the less than 15k of us are.

We have parks, beaches, restaurants, retail and yet we argue it’s not enough. The request for a swimming pool is almost laughable. For a handful of seniors and students? Do you realize how many communities have so much less than we do? Our full time population numbers simply don’t support the requests being submitted. I’m not a fanatic environmentalist, just a realist. Just like we can’t support the added retail space suggested based on the amount of empty existing spaces, we don’t need elaborate park development either.
