Community members are invited to join the Agoura Animal Care Center in celebrating the American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals’ (ASPCA) national Help a Horse Day on April 24 from 12 to 4 p.m.
The center will open its new horse barn to the public to share the joys of owning a horse and teach visitors about equine welfare. Veterinarians, farriers, trainers, professional transporters and people who have rescued horses will be at the event to answer questions for those who own a horse or would like to learn more about becoming a horse owner.
Children can participate in a miniature horse hand-painting activity and meet some of the center’s other animals, including dogs, cats, goats and bunnies. Local animal-related vendors will also be present.Â
