Malibu High School sports wrap (Nov. 1-Nov. 5)

Boys water polo: The team concluded the regular season with a win and a loss for the week. The Sharks beat Arroyo Grande on Nov. 2, and lost against Santa Monica two days later. The loss to Santa Monica was the league champion Sharks’ second defeat of the season. The team will begin its bid for a CIF title this Thursday against Savannah.

Girls volleyball: The team won both games for the week. That concludes a regular season in which the girls placed second in the Frontier League, getting edged for a league championship by rival Grace Brethren. The girls open up their CIF round against Desert as the young team attempts to make a run deep into playoffs.

Girls Tennis: The League Individual Finals took place at Pacific Tennis Club in Westlake Village. Sophomore Britta Mosser placed first and freshman Lauren Louks placed third. The girls play again this week as they aim for a CIF title.

Cross Country: The girls and boys had their final meet of the year in Malibu. Zach Hamilton placed second in the race, making him the Frontier League MVP and Sara Mohr placed third. Both were named First Team All-League and will participate in post-season in the near future.
