(The following was addressed to the Sheriff’s Department Reserve.)
I sadly report that, as I promised last year, I would no longer contribute to your association if the Sheriff’s Department continued its insane policy of crushing perfectly good rifles and pistols.
Just because L.A. County has no respect for weapons does not mean these things can’t be sold or donated to the Northern Californian counties that know how to treat them with respect and give them proper use.
Remember, 98 percent of rural America use rifles to put meat on their table. Your crushing of these guns is phony grandstanding and I will not support it.
