Ban is dopey idea

I would like to comment on the city ordinance to ban medical marijuana. I am shocked to see our wonderful city, which has been blessed with its independence, to consider such a foolish measure. I had my leg crushed several years ago, saving my father’s life. In lieu of amputation, I received titanium bones and, through sheer intestinal fortitude, I regained the use of my leg. Marijuana was and is the only medication that has allowed me to have a relatively normal life. I have a prescription and use the local dispensary.

Almost everyone has tried marijuana. None of us have become junkies or hookers. Having said that, the notation that this business attracts problems is false. Without it the drug dealers will be back in droves and victimize all of us with their illegal activities. It is backwards thinking that encourages this potential ordinance to ban marijuana and this city should really ask itself whether the identity crisis that would reverse a controlled legal dispensary in exchange for illegal drug dealing in our schools and on are streets is only good for the drug dealers and not the law abiding community at large. Of all the ignorant, stupid and naĂ¯ve notions this city conjures up, this is the grand slam.
