After a long battle to keep his luxurious beachfront property secluded to the public, David Geffen quietly listed his Malibu home for $100 million, according to Variety.
The music and movie mogul enlisted the help of some of Los Angeles’ top property brokers, selectively showing the Carbon Beach home to interested, pre-screened buyers.
First purchased in the ’70s, and previously owned by Doris Day, an adjacent property was purchased in 1999 to create what is now a five-parcel spread, combined into two plots.
The expansive beachfront estate includes a swimming pool, spa, screening room and a pond, as well as direct access to Billionaire’s Beach and stunning ocean views with multiple terraces.
For years, Geffen fought to have his Malibu home privatized in an attempt to stop people from walking on the public beach by his house and was involved in numerous lawsuits surrounding the property and public beach access.
