Seann Patrick Flynn, age 29 of Los Angeles, died Monday, at about 8:49 am in a traffic collision between his motorcycle and a dump trump on the Pacific Coast Highway where it is intersected by the north end of Rambla Vista.
Flynn had been employed as an administrator for the Malibu office of Sotheby’s International Realty, Inc. for many years and more recently worked as an assistant to realtors Cormac and Wailani O’Herlihy. According to associates he was single, without children.
A press release issued by the Malibu/Lost Hills Sheriff’s Station on Tue., Dec. 6 stated: “Flynn was riding his motorcycle north on PCH approaching the intersection of Rambla Vista when he attempted to pass a slow moving dump truck on the right as it was turning right onto Rambla Vista. The rider struck the midpoint of the truck and was thrown to the ground and subsequently run over by the rear wheels of the fully loaded truck. He was killed instantly due to blunt force trauma.
“Witnesses state the motorcycle rider was traveling at a high rate of speed and splitting lanes of traffic prior to the collision. Malibu/Lost Hills traffic collision detectives are currently investigating the incident but it appears the motorcycle rider was at fault. The dump truck was not damaged, the driver was not injured. Relatives of the deceased were notified by the coroner.”
The dump truck was said to be from the major construction project going on for a number of months, at the hill above Rambla Vista, attempting to arrest a large landslide.
There were numerous reports of citizens who were disturbed because the body lay in the street for several hours, unmoved and covered only by a sheet, until the coroner arrived and had an opportunity to complete the investigation.
