Due to elevated fire risk amid dry weather, the City of Malibu announced it would close Charmlee Wilderness and Trancas Canyon parks on Tuesday while a red flag warning is in effect in the Santa Monica Mountains area.
Both parks will be closed beginning at 4 a.m. until at least 6 p.m. on Tuesday.
The closure could extend into Wednesday, the city said on its website, depending on when the red flag warning is lifted. Malibu will see a high of 75 degrees and humidity is projected to be very low at 25%, according to the Weather Channel. Winds are forecast to blow north at 5-10 MPH.
