In the allotted time for lunch, I often hear the melodies of laughter and squawking seagulls. However, there is a dissonance often present that turns this idyllic scene into auditory sludge. It is known as profanity.

Normal kids take no notice of their good fortune to be able to verbally express themselves with such proficiency while some of us struggle to produce syllables. I simply do not understand why, with millions of words in so many diverse languages, one would choose voluntarily to sound like an uneducated culturally bereft buffoon. Is it any wonder the nations of the world belittle our nation when the full range of expression can be compressed into such foul and limited vernacular skills? Perhaps while I have been attempting to restructure my neuropathways so I can voice and not merely type my opinions, the American student has regressed to ape-slinging excrement.

Really, take some pride in yourself and be careful. That stranger overhearing you may be the one interviewing you tomorrow. Not to mention that I am tired of hearing it. Go check out a dictionary or some work by Shakespeare, then you will at least sound intelligent in your discontent.
