LION DOLLAR BABIES

MILMalibu beauty Olivia Newton-John joined local pal Fran Drescher for an evening of music and merriment to benefit Fran?s Cancer Schmancer crusade. The program at the Million Dollar Theater in Downtown L.A. had the look and feel of an old time variety show.

The line-up featured acts like The Bird and the Bee, Beth Nielsen Chapman, The Wispertown2000, Chris Pierce, Charlotte Martin, Caitlin Crosby, Charlyne Yi, Mortified and Stilt World, and also included classic rockers like the legendary Jackson Browne.

It was an eclectic mix of music, with talented performers who don?t normally share the same stage. The evening wrapped up with a special VIP bash held at the oh-so-hip Broadway Bar, hanging to hot tunes provided by celebrated spinmeister Hunneypot.

?The Million Dollar Revival? raised funds for ?The Nanny? star?s Cancer Schmancer organization as well as her ?Inner Images Fran Van Project.? Fran?s vans provide women throughout Los Angeles with preventative cancer education and information.

Fran?s fans can also sign up for local cancer screening tests and free follow-up care. Fran, who along with Olivia, is a cancer survivor herself, has worked tirelessly as an advocate for women?s health. Her goal is to make sure that women of all ages and income brackets have access to early diagnosis and treatment. Today Fran?s vans are on the road, putting the brakes on cancer and making grateful friends along the way.

ALL SHOOK UP

January has been one big celebration of all things Elvis. The legendary pelvis-grinding heartthrob would have turned 75 years old this month. From film festival retrospectives to local radio station tributes, fans have been looking back at the life of one of the most influential Rock and Roll performers of all time.

If you can?t make it out to the movies or forget to set your DVR, get ?Girl Happy? and go on line for an Elvis classic of your very own. There?s nothing like ?Jailhouse Rock,? ?G.I. Blues? or ?Viva Las Vegas? to take you down memory lane. It?s a sweet reminder that there was another ?King? long before our talented Mr. Cameron came to town. Mm mm oh, oh, yeah, yeah!

ALL ALONG THE WATCHTOWER

Speaking of rock legends, you can get ?experienced? all over again with the original guitar hero Jimi Hendrix. The Woodstock superstar?s estate will be releasing a new collection of Hendrix titles in March.

?Valleys of Neptune? features a dozen unreleased recordings that are sure to keep devotees in one deep purple haze. It?s the perfect warm-up for an all-star Hendrix tribute band who will be hitting the road in just a few. They?ll be kicking off a 17-city tour that begins up the coast in Santa Barbara on March 4. Can you dig it?
