Santa Ana Wind Advisory

Due to “unusually high temperatures” and strong Santa Ana winds, the National Weather Service (NWS) has issued a wind and fire danger advisory this Saturday through Monday, Jan. 27-29.

Wind gusts are expected to reach between 35 and 55 miles per hour. The advisory also states there will be “low relative humidity” and dry vegetation, leading to “critical fire danger.”

A high surf advisory is also in effect through Saturday, Jan. 27, with surf estimated to be as high as nine to 12 feet. Anyone looking to head to local beaches is cautioned to look out for large surf, sneaker waves and rip currents. NWS advises people to “stay off rocks, never turn your back to the ocean and stay back from the water.”

The weather is expected to stay around 70-80 degrees Fahrenheit, according to NWS.
