Webster Elementary School students recently sent letters and gifts to 108 children at Seaford Harbor Elementary School on Long Island, N.Y., whose homes were damaged or destroyed by Hurricane Sandy.
Each student at Webster was assigned a Seaford Harbor buddy from the same grade level, and wrote the student a letter. Families and staff made donations to the project and students chose books to send. The Webster community also provided Target gift cards and a $600 donation to the school.
Through the process, the school’s goal was to offer the storm survivors understanding and support as they recover.
