I would like to clarify my quote in your Aug. 19 edition. I did not mean to suggest Mr. Silna’s political donation was an attempt to influence the outcome of his civil suit. I was speaking only to the “appearance of impropriety.” It was not my intention to imply that the donation was actually inappropriate or illegal.
