Malibu Local Graduates From Yale University

Gianna Marie Fote, a Malibu local, graduated from Yale University and will return to California to attend the University of California, Irvine.

Malibu local Gianna Marie Fote graduated from Yale University on May 19 with a bachelor’s degree in science, majoring in intensive molecular, cellular and developmental biology, with a concentration in neurobiology. While at Yale, Fote played water polo all four years and, in 2013, was voted Most Valuable Player of the Collegiate Club Water Polo Association’s North Atlantic Division, leading the Bulldogs to the championship that year. 

Fote will return to Southern California to pursue medical and doctorate degrees at UC Irvine. She will participate in the eight-year Medical Scientist Training Program. 

Fote attended Juan Cabrillo Elementary, Malibu Middle and Malibu High Schools. While at MHS, Fote was captain of the girls varsity water polo team.Â
