Tickets went on sale Tuesday, June 20 for the second annual Concert on the Bluffs, hosted by the City of Malibu and featuring musicians from the Los Angeles Philharmonic and Hollywood Bowl Orchestra and New York City Ballet dancers.
The concert will take place on Sunday, Aug. 20 at 5 p.m. at Malibu Bluffs Park overlooking the Pacific Ocean, and begin at $15 for students and seniors and $35 for adults. Children aged five and younger will receive free admittance.
“The first Concert on the Bluffs was a huge hit, and it was really a highlight of the year to have hundreds of families enjoying such an amazing cultural event in Malibu,” Mayor Skylar Peak said in a statement provided by the city. “Arts and culture are a powerful way of bringing people together and building community bonds. I couldn’t be more proud of the achievements that the Cultural Arts Commission has made in nurturing Malibu’s cultural life.”
Highlights of this year’s concert will be a performance of Gershwin’s “Rhapsody in Blue,” Astor Piazzolla’s “Libertango” and other favorites.
Visitors are encouraged to bring a blanket or beach chair and a picnic basket, though hot food and sweets will be available for purchase from food trucks at the site.
Tickets may be purchased at concertonthebluffs2017.brownpapertickets.com or in person at Malibu Bluffs Park or Malibu City Hall. Last year’s concert reached capacity and tickets sold out.
