The fire begun in Agoura at 12:06 p.m. has expanded to 75 acres as of 3:40 p.m., but it is not threatening Malibu. A Los Angeles County Fire Department official said the fire is 80 percent contained. All access roads to Malibu are open.

Brad Davis, head of Malibu’s emergency services, said the fire is 60 percent contained and there are 250 firefighters working on the blaze. He said the fire is burning in a northwest direction and it does not appear to be headed toward Malibu.

“It’s burning away from the city, and the wind is not looking like it’s going change,” Davis said.

The fire started at Lost Hills and Las Virgenes roads. The cause is not known. No structural damage or injuries have been reported. The fire was initially reported as a one-acre blaze and expanded to 10 acres within the first hour. Parts of Agoura have been evacuated.
