The National Weather Service has issued a wind advisory for Malibu through 8 p.m. Sunday evening. A sunny afternoon Saturday is expected to give way in the evening to winds with gusts as high was 40 mph. The strong winds could cause potentially hazardous surf, resulting in very strong rip currents along exposed west-facing shores through Sunday evening. A west wind swell is projected to build to 9 to 12 feet Sunday afternoon.
