Residents across Malibu have reported political signs supporting candidates for city council have gone missing. Supporters for candidates Jennifer deNicola, Skylar Peak, Rick Mullen and Jefferson Wagner have had their signs taken off of personal property near Pacific Coast Highway, Morning Drive Road and Encinal Canyon Road.

Some residents said they have filed theft reports to Lost Hills/Malibu Sheriff’s Station; however, sheriff’s officials did not confirm reports of missing signs by the time The Malibu Times went to print.

There was thought that some of the many signs that have been removed from Pacific Coast Highway were potentially violating Caltrans’ regulation that no signage be placed in the state’s right-of-way. However, a spokesperson for Caltrans confirmed the organization has not removed any political signs between Las Flores Canyon Road and John Tyler Drive on PCH.
