Letter: Commission Questions

See that steam coming out of my ears? It started when Planning Commissioner Jeff Jennings had the audacity to put his law practice before his oath to the people of Malibu to hear questions about a project that is hotly contested in this city, refusing to hear Commissioner Mazza’s questions about the Whole Foods project.

To add insult to injury, Commission Chair David Brotman asked what difference the questions made since Mazza would vote against the project. Since we all knew that Brotman would vote for it, that’s not the point. It is Brotman’s job to chair the commission correctly. Mazza’s questions were for the benefit of the community, not the commission. Jennings and Brotman should be taken off the commission if they cannot fully serve the people of Malibu.
