I have a story that I would like you to print if it is possible. The reason is that some very nice people helped me and I have no way of thanking them and, hopefully, they will read it in your paper.

We acquired a very small Chihuahua called Daisy, a few months ago, and she was just getting to know us. One Saturday night, around ten thirty, she managed to slip out the door and ran up the street. We live on Corral Canyon Road in the first group of houses. She ran so fast that I could not catch her. A truck with two nice people in it stopped to tell me that they had seen my dog and drove up the road to see if they could help. I went back for my car and my wife went up the road on foot. Two other people saw Daisy running up the road and followed her until she disappeared over the edge into the bushes.

One of them stayed and the other went in the car to down the road. He stopped and gave my wife a ride back to the spot where Daisy disappeared, which was a mile up the road. In the meantime, I arrived. We called and called but she would not come and I could not see her even with a flashlight. We waited until midnight and then went home. My wife and I went back twice, but no luck.

In the morning, I took our other dog, Mindy, with me. She is a Chihuahua like little Daisy, but bigger. We got out of the car at the place where Daisy disappeared. Mindy sniffed the ground and went over the edge pulling me towards a bush. I went down about ten feet and I could see Daisy with her black face and white body hiding under a bush just waiting for us to come and get her. Miraculously, she was unharmed and had not been eaten by the coyotes, or some other animal.

I wanted to thank the very nice people who helped us and let them know that we did find our dog Daisy.
