The start of a new year brings the start of a new Malibu Library Speaker Series. The 2016 series begins on Tuesday, Jan. 12, with guest speaker Dr. Paul Cummins — the founder, president and CEO of Coalition for Engaged Education, a nonprofit organization that allows vulnerable youth to realize their potential through education.

Cummins’ work is devoted to creating equal education opportunities for children of all backgrounds. Along with founding the Coalition for Engaged Education, he is also a co-founder of the Crossroads and New Roads schools in Santa Monica and has authored four books on education.

The Malibu Library Speaker Series is a program of the Los Angeles County Public Library and the City of Malibu featuring experts in a wide range of subjects.

Cummins’ lecture will begin at 7 p.m. at Malibu City Hall. For more information, contact 310.456.6438.
