The Boys and Girls Club of Malibu has named Mariarely Cruz its 2013 Youth of the Year. The title recognizes contributions to a member’s school, community, family and the club, as well as overcoming personal challenges and obstacles.
Cruz will go on to compete against members from the 27 Boys & Girls Clubs of Los Angeles County Feb. 6 for the opportunity to continue on to the statewide California Youth of the Year competition.
