A male kayaker was found safe Saturday afternoon near the LA/Ventura County line in western Malibu after he reportedly got separated from his kayaking group.
The Ventura County Fire Department responded to a report of a missing kayaker near Neptune’s Net restaurant just before 5 p.m., according to VCFD spokesperson Bill Nash. Several firetrucks were at the scene at Pacific Coast Highway near Neptune’s Net and a helicopter was deployed.Â
“He turned out to be safe and was picked up by a fishing boat and brought in,” Nash said.
The kayaker was brought back to shore at about 5:30 p.m. The unidentified man was said to be kayaking with a group of four people before becoming separated.Â
