Coastal cleanup
Heal the Bay will be hosting its annual Coastal Cleanup event on Sept. 17, across more than 50 cleanup sites from Pasadena to Malibu. With an astounding 600,000 global participants counted during last year’s event, more than 10,000 volunteers are expected this year to come from the South Bay alone.
Participants are encouraged to carpool, use public transportation and bike to reach their cleanup sites, as beach permit costs vary depending on the season and beach crowds.
All ages are welcome to take part; however, those under the age of 13 must be accompanied by an adult, and youths under the age of 18 must have a parent / legal guardian sign a safety waiver.
For more information and to download safety waivers, please visit healthebay.org.
