Duke’s Malibu kicked off its annual summer festivities with the first Big Wednesday of the year on July 15. Malibu locals, family and friends came out to support THERAsurf, which provides an opportunity for special needs children to forget their disabilities and ride the waves with the help of founders Kim Bordenave Gamboa and Jimmy Gamboa, and a host of dedicated volunteers.
Through Duke’s Legacy of Aloha program, proceeds from Big Wednesday will benefit local causes, including Malibu Coast Lifesaving Association, Marina del Rey Outrigger Canoe Club, Young & Brave Foundation, Life Rolls On, Callie’s Cause and Malibu Lions Club.
The grand finale on August 12 will support all sponsors and foundations and will take place in the Ocean Room.
