In reference to the monopoly board email sent out by Malibu CAN:
Many of the stated facts are not true.
Measure R established a 20,000 sq. foot threshold — not 25,000 sq. feet.
Measure R contained the requirement that an election must take place so that the voters could approve any project over 20,000 sq. feet.
Measure W does nothing to eliminate Measure R
Measure W has nothing to do with the Regional Water Quality Board required Sewer System for the Civic Center Area of Malibu.
Measure W has nothing to do with the La Paz development, which is already entitled.
Measure W has nothing to do with the redevelopment of the courthouse to enable a satellite campus of Santa Monica Community College.
Measure W has nothing to do with the Malibu Bay Club Development, which will require its own election.
What is it about the people running Malibu CAN that makes them believe that Malibu residents can’t be trusted to vote based on verifiable facts?
