A project to expand the water main and lines to allow a higher water capacity for Malibu High School and nearby areas is expected to begin this month and continue through spring of 2012, a press release from the Santa Monica-Malibu Unified School District stated this week. Work will be performed on Merritt Drive and Busch Drive. Work hours are expected to be Monday through Friday, 7:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. There will be intermittent lane closures from 9:00 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. During those hours, a minimum of one lane of traffic will remain open and traffic control employees will be on the site.
The replacement of the water main is a project being undertaken by Los Angeles County Waterworks District 29, the press release stated. It did not specify an exact date in November when work would begin.
