The article about the Fire Coalition in this week’s Malibu Times triggered a thought with me. When was the last time someone developed a new idea to fight our fires here in Malibu? As a resident, I have watched the flames destroy friends’ homes and put me and my family in danger.
I heartily endorse this new thinking about our situation. It is obvious that using water from fire hydrants already in place will help diminish the possibility of fires moving rapidly across the mountains. The Coalition for Fire Safe Communities idea deserves more study and discussion so that we can continue to be safe in our homes.
