Pepperdine University will host a memorial service at Heroes Garden, 24255 Pacific Coast Hwy., Sept. 11 at 12:15 p.m. The University has installed 2,997 flags on its lawn, one for each victim who lost their lives in the Sept. 11 terrorist attacks. The service will include a devotional John Barton, associate professor of religion and associate director of the University’s Center for Faith and Learning.
Heroes Garden was made to honor the Americans who lost their lives in the attacks, including Pepperdine alumnus Thomas E. Burnett, Jr., who died on Flight 93. For more information about the ceremony, call 310.506.4382.
