Point Dume Marine Science Elementary School is officially a Monarch Butterfly Waystation. Ms. Cullen’s first- and second-grade class (pictured) was the first at the school to study the plight of the monarch butterfly. Through their efforts, the school has added milkweeds, nectar plants and shelter for the monarchs throughout their annual cycle of reproduction and migration. PDMSS now has three plots embedded in the campus as part of its environmental stewardship goals. PDMSS is Monarch Waystation #4297 through www.MonarchWatch.org.
