The Cold Creek Docents are now hiring teachers for their nature education program.
The Cold Creek Docents are an environmental education affiliate of the Mountains Restoration Trust that has been leading nature walks in the Cold Creek Area of the Santa Monica Mountains for over 30 years. These walks are dedicated to educating the public about the nature and cultural history of the Cold Creek Watershed and its relationship to the Santa Monica Mountains
Teachers will lead nature hikes for Elementary Students at the UCLA Stunt Ranch Reserve in Calabasas. Topics covered include native plants and animals, ecology, rocks and soil, and Chumash Culture.
Positions require 10 half-day training sessions beginning Monday, Sept. 28. Teachers should expect to hike and teach three to four days per month. Some natural science background and interest is preferred. For more information or to register, call 818.591.9363.
