My wife and I were shocked and saddened to read the articles in the March 25, 2004, issue of The Malibu Times about the proposal for the Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG) storage and regasification plant. We are vigorously opposed to any plant like this and its 24 inch, 21-mile pipeline in the waters off of Deer Creek Canyon, West Malibu. This project would be clearly visible from our property off of Deer Creek Road.
The potential for a catastrophic accident on or under the ocean is impossible to secure against. Additionally, this massive, unthinkable proposed project creates an indefensible target for a terrorist attack. Please enter our concerns to the proper agency before the March 31, 2004, deadline for comments.
