Letter: Feeding the Hungry

I recently read that the City of Malibu has asked a Methodist congregation to stop feeding the homeless because they were contributing to the rise of the homeless in the city. I am disappointed that this fine city would ask the members of that congregation to ignore the biblical mandate to feed the hungry. I do not believe that the homelessness has or will increase because of one meal per week. I am more disappointed in the Methodist congregation for agreeing to stop, which goes against the words of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, because he said that when we feed the hungry, we are feeding him.
