Typical of the three council members, Barovsky, Stern and Sibert that act as though surfers at world famous Malibu Surfrider Beach are an inconvenience. They have again ignored the issues of concern regarding the surfers’ health and safety, reaffirming their commitment to promote irresponsible commercial developments in the heart of Malibu. Remember their Webster School road debacle that backed up PCH? Well, here we go again.
Rather than address the issues concerning the health and safety of surfers, they have their usual suspects sign malicious letters that appeared in your paper last week, in an attempt to distract from the issues, rather than deal with the issues of this vicious cycle they have us all in.
Oh yes, they will tell you that they are trying to reduce development but their words are empty. Millions of dollars and almost two decades of studies and reports state the same mantra: Restore a functional wetland in the center. This is being ignored, misrepresented and manipulated by these council members in favor of developing their Beverlybu shopping center. As a result, this City Council and their usual suspects are fostering a climate of lawsuits that could bankrupt the city. Furthermore, this situation is having adverse effects on tourism and the health of beaches downstream.
We have chronic liars in City Hall and many who go along to get along in support of them. As a result, they have emboldened each other to lie even more. I was hoping things would change but I now believe “once a liar, always a liar.” Remember the old adage: A thief can take your money but a liar can take your life.
