Beach Parking Costs to Increase for Holiday

Some beach visitors stay active on the sand.

California State Parks announced it will be increasing the day-rate fee for various coastal parking lots in the Malibu area for the Fourth of July holiday weekend (July 2 – July 4).

Normally, parking in these lots runs from $8 to $12. The increased rates are as follows:

  • Point Mugu State Park- Mugu Beach: $12

  • Point Mugu State Park-La Jolla: No change

  • Point Mugu State Park-Sycamore Cove: $20

  • Point Mugu State Park-Sycamore Canyon: $20

  • Leo Carrillo State Park-Staircase: $10

  • Leo Carrillo State Park-South Beach: $20

  • RH Meyer Memorial Beaches (La Piedra and El Pescador): $15

  • RH Meyer Memorial Beach-El Matador: $15

  • Malibu Lagoon State Beach: $20 

The all-day hourly rate will be available after 4 p.m. Free parking will still be available in select locations. There will be no increase at Malibu Creek State Park, Topanga State Park and Will Rogers State Historic Park. All pricing will return to the non-holiday rate after July 4.
