The City’s annual Christmas Tree Recycling Program begins Dec. 26 and runs through Jan. 13.

“As one of the few municipalities still providing drop-off collection services, we encourage all residents to take advantage of our recycling program and turn their Christmas trees into environmentally beneficial mulch,” said Mayor Lou La Monte.

As it has done for nearly 20 years, the City will offer two locations for Christmas tree recycling: 29136 Pacific Coast Highway (near Heathercliff Road) and 24250 Pacific Coast Highway (the eastside cul-de-sac at Bluffs Park), according to the City’s Environmental Programs Office.

Recycled Christmas trees must be free of all non-organic materials, such as stands, tinsel, ornaments and lights. In addition to the City’s two drop-off locations, residents can recycle their trees through the regular curbside green waste collection.
