[UPDATE: 5 p.m.]

Two fires were reported on Kanan Road, both possibly connected to a vehicle collision involving a power pole that occurred around 3:40 p.m., according to the Malibu/Lost Hills Sheriff’s station.

“There were two fires,” Lt. Rotella said. “We had one evacuation somewhere between 20-30 people at the winery.”

In addition, “approximately two-acres burned on the first fire, which was by the tunnel … the vehicle accident,” Rotella said.

Evacuation orders have been lifted and there is no estimate to when the fires will be completely contained.

“CHP is en route to help with traffic and Malibu SAR (Search and Rescue) is on scene. We’re dealing with the one road closure on Kanan Road,” Rotella said.
