Pepperdine’s Ashley Lahey finished her season at the NCAA Singles Quarterfinals with “the best finish in Pepperdine women’s tennis program history,” according to Pepperdine Athletics. The sophomore made it to the final match, which resulted in a loss on Monday, May 18.
Two other Waves—Mayar Sherif and Luisa Stefani—also qualified. This is the first time a sports program has had three qualified competitors since 2011 (Stanford University accomplished the challenge back then.)
Pepperdine has only had six other players qualify to quarterfinals in the past.
