The Pacific Coast Highway (PCH) Taskforce announced this week it will be hosting several interactive outreach events this weekend with the goal of increasing pedestrian safety on PCH.

On Saturday, July 25 and Sunday, July 26, the PCH Taskforce will host sidewalk discussions at Zuma Beach, Malibu Pier, Surfrider Beach and Chabad of Malibu, where participants will “learn about pedestrian safety best practices, provide input and identify strategies to improve pedestrian safety on PCH,” according to a release provided by the City of Malibu.

The schedule is as follows:

  • Saturday, July 25, 10:30 a.m. to 12 p.m., Zuma Beach Concession Stand Near Parking Lot #5
  • Saturday, July 25, 1:30 p.m. to 3 p.m., Malibu Pier
  • Sunday, July 26, 10 a.m. to 12 p.m., Chabad of Malibu, 22943 PCH
  • Sunday, July 26, 1:30 p.m. to 3 p.m., Surfrider Beach, Southern Section of the parking lot

“Hundreds of pedestrians and bicyclists use PCH every day, and it is imperative that all of them are aware of the safest ways of using PCH,” the city’s statement read. “Feedback received at the Pedestrian Safety Workshop and the Sidewalk Discussions will be incorporated into a pedestrian safety assessment report and action plan to be presented to the PCH Taskforce in September.”
