Photos: Malibu Library Hosts a Hunt For St. Patrick’s Day Gold

The City of Malibu and the Malibu Library hosted a St. Patrick’s Day event, “Leprechaun Gold Hunt,” at Legacy Park. Children participated in arts and crafts, games, and received prizes, as well as joined in a sing-a-long and listened to a story read by children’s librarian, Leena Walker. Each child received a rainbow pencil and a gold coin redeemable for a free picture book, provided by the Malibu Library. The City of Malibu’s Recreation Assistant Cassie Murphy led the children down a decorated Legacy Park path for a gold hunt. Children searched for the pot o’ gold, filled with gold coins that “Lucky” the leprechaun left behind to celebrate St. Patrick’s Day.

The Malibu Times is the first newspaper in Malibu, serving the community since 1946.
