Dr. Mark Raymond Sawusch, 57, died at his home in Malibu, California. Sawusch spent his final day watching wildlife from his seaside balcony and listening to the waves of the Pacific Ocean.
Sawusch spent his life on a constant pursuit of knowledge. He integrated his passion for science with his love of helping others in fulfilling his dream of becoming an opthamologist. He earned his medical degree from the University of Chicago Pritzker School of Medicine and completed his residency at the prestigious Johns Hopkins University. After receiving his certification from the American Board of Ophthalmology, Sawusch went on to lead a successful medical practice. His distinguished career as an opthamologist spanned nearly three decades.
“In addition to his beautiful mind, those close to Mark will remember his keen sense of humor and sharp wit,” a loved one said. “Mark will be remembered fondly for his gentle demeanor, generosity and kind heartedness.”
