The Malibu Times is looking to hire interns for the summer as well as a part-time receptionist.

The newspaper is looking to bring two summer interns on board who want hands-on newsroom experience—this is a great opportunity for students. Though journalism experience is not necessary, some writing skill is required. Hours are flexible as long as interns are available to work eight hours per week in-office. We are looking for a two-month commitment and a gas stipend will be available ($25 per week).

If interested, email a resume and two writing samples to editorial@malibutimes.com with the subject line “Summer Intern application.” If a candidate does not have writing samples, pieces written for school assignments will be considered. Applications are being accepted on a rolling basis until Friday, June 8.

The Malibu Times is also looking for a part-time receptionist for both the newspaper and magazine. The ideal candidate will have great people, organization and communication skills along with the ability to multitask. They must also be comfortable with PC and Mac computers, uploading digital content through a content management system, answering phones, running general errands, scheduling and other general office tasks. Knowledge of Salesforce is helpful, but not necessary. The candidate must have availability on Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays and Fridays. The salary is $13 per hour.

Applications are being accepted on a rolling basis until the position is filled. To apply, email a resume to legals@malibutimes.com with the subject line “Front Office Assistant application.”
