Motorcyclist Killed on PCH Outside of Malibu

Mane Tuiaana, a 54-year-old man from Oxnard, was killed on Saturday, Oct. 3 in a motorcycle crash just outside of Malibu, according to the Ventura County Star.

California Highway Patrol reported the motorcyclist was heading south on Pacific Coast Highway around 9:25 a.m. when he crashed into the back of a pickup truck that was stopped at a red light at the intersection of Deer Creek Road, across the Ventura County Line from Malibu. 

A passing motorist attempted to help the man, who had slid onto the right shoulder, while waiting for authorities to arrive. According to officials, the Ventura County Fire Department and patrol officers pronounced the man dead on the scene upon arrival. 

The driver of the pickup, a 44-year-old man from Glendale, was uninjured, according to authorities.

The cause of the crash remains under investigation, according to officials.
