An accident involving two cars at Big Rock Drive and Pacific Coast Highway brought heavy slowing to the westbound side of Pacific Coast Highway shortly before 11 a.m. on Friday. One person was airlifted to UCLA Medical Center with possible head or neck injuries, according to Lt. Mathers of the Malibu/Lost Hills Sheriff’s Station.
Two vehicles were involved in the crash, and one black SUV ended up on its side on Big Rock. Firetrucks and ambulances arrived at the scene of the crash around 11 a.m.
Traffic on PCH was reopened by 11:40 a.m.
The accident backed up westbound traffic to Topanga Canyon Road and was being diverted to the center median while crews worked to clear the accident, according to Lt. Mathers of the Malibu/Lost Hills Sheriff’s Station.Â
Eastbound PCH traffic was also backed up to the area in front of Moonshadows Restaurant.
