Nobu restaurant has been given another reprieve.  But the Planning Commission wants something Nobu maybe cannot legally do: come up with a parking plan by May 20 that gets cars off PCH.

There is more serious upheaval in the trouble plagued Los Angeles County sheriffs department: the undersheriff has been abruptly fired.  New sheriff Alex Villanueva fired his number two in the department after just a few months in office. And the undersheriff is one Villanueva’s secret so-called “Truth An Reconciliation Commission” members … who reinstated a Villanueva crony to work.

Southern California Edison is the utility company whose faulty transmission lines caused the Thomas Fire … and a year later likely caused the Malibu Fire.

Now the company is increasingly under fire across Southern California for other issues. Butchering trees, and botching nuclear waste disposal.

Stairway to the Stars … the choral perfomances were last night at BarNum Hall … at Santa Moncia High School. 

nearly 1,000 very talented students from all SMMUSD schools in  Malibu and Santa Monica.

Celebrates the fact that parent volunteers have raised money for music teachers in every third grade classroom … and musicla instruments given to every foiurth grader who wants to play.

It was a man in his 20s who was killed yesterday in a single vehicle car srash at Mugu Rock.

The CHP says it has handed over the case to the Ventura County sheirffs offcie … as it appears to be a suicide … not a traffic accident. 

The man’s vehicle was seen traveling at high speed wiht its lights out yetserdya morning … near Malibu.

The vehicle crashed into Mugu Rock. 

No word if it had been driven out of Malibu … or out of Oxnard.

No name has been released.

Dense Fog Advisory now in effect for both Ventura and Los Angeles County Coastal areas thru 9 AM. 

Several reports of dense fog with visibility 1/4 miles or less from LAX up thru the Malibu to Point Mugu Naval Base.

Meanwhile…. the rainstorms heading our way are sort of falling apart,

Maybe a tenth of an inch of rain in the form of showers late today…

Now it looks like Thursday will be clearing skies … maybe a little rain Friday.

But starting 5 am tomorrow … a high surf advisory.

Waves to 7 feet, mainly on west facing beaches.

The highest tide of this week … is expected Wednesday morning around 8:25 am.
